Preparing images for the website
These instructions require ImageMagick (v7+) for image processing.
People photos (should be resized to 200x200)
All photos in assets/images/people/ should be:
- 200x200 pixels (square)
- WebP format
- Center-cropped if aspect ratio doesn’t match
For a photo person-name.EXT, use the resize.sh script:
# Using the resize.sh script (defaults to 200x200 WebP)
./resize.sh people/person-name.EXT
# Or with custom size and format
./resize.sh people/person-name.EXT 200 webp
Location photos (should NOT be resized)
Photos in assets/images/locations/ should be kept at their original size but converted to WebP format:
# Convert to WebP without resizing
IMAGE=location-name; EXT=jpg
magick "${IMAGE}.${EXT}" -quality 100 "${IMAGE}.webp"
Sponsor logos
Logos in assets/images/sponsors/ can remain in their original format (PNG/SVG preferred).
