Motivation
We are preparing a special issue featuring lecture notes from the 2025 and 2026 editions of the School on Analytical Connectionism. The goal of the collection is to make the lecture material accessible to future participants, and to the wider research community.
Preparing lecture notes is part of the School programme. Participants in the 2025 and 2026 editions joined assigned note-taking groups and agreed to collaborate on the notes as part of their participation in the School. We therefore ask each group to coordinate actively and develop their notes into a submission.

Instructions
Submission
Submit the manuscript and required metadata through the OpenReview submission portal by 31 March 2027. One member of each group should coordinate the upload and confirm that every listed author has reviewed the submitted version.
Template and formatting
Please prepare manuscripts with the Analytical Connectionism 2025–2026 LaTeX template. The package contains a commented author skeleton and the special issue style.
Recommended length
There is no strict page limit. As a guide, we recommend approximately:
- Long lectures: 20 pages
- Shorter lectures: 12 pages
The appropriate length may vary with the content of the lecture.
Co-authorship and consent
If you are preparing notes based on a lecturer’s material, include the lecturer as a co-author and obtain their approval before submission. The lecture notes are their intellectual property, and their consent is necessary for the submission. Agree on the author list and order with all contributors before uploading the manuscript.
Rights, permissions, and costs
The authors are responsible for confirming that all contributors and relevant rights holders consent to the submission and distribution of the manuscript. Obtain permission before reusing third-party figures, data, or previously published material, and check any obligations. Do not submit material unless all required approvals are in place. Analytical Connectionism cannot pay permissions fees or other external costs. If costs arise, the authors must agree how they will be covered before proceeding.
Review
Submissions will undergo peer review. Reviews are planned for release by 31 May 2027. Authors and reviewers will then have a discussion period through 14 June 2027, during which authors may respond to comments and revise their manuscripts as requested. Final decisions are planned by 30 June 2027.
Camera-ready
The special issue style is included in the LaTeX template; the provided main.tex already loads it with \usepackage{analytical-connectionism-special-issue}.
Configure the edition details using the following commands:

Replace YYYY with the school year, LECTURER NAME, and SHORT TITLE FOR HEADER accordingly. Any further camera-ready instructions will be provided together with the final decisions.
